Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance for nutrition services. At $40 per visit, for most, it is less than a copay would be.
What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine considers the unique genetic makeup of each person and seeks to identify core imbalances that underlie symptoms and are the root cause of many chronic health conditions.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Bring your completed nutritional physical form, any recent lab work, and a list of your current medications and supplements.
Do you need to be a chiropractic patient to use the nutrition services or vice versa?
No. You do not need to see Dr. Broeg or Dr. Eva to see Jenna. The services are independent of one another.
How do I get started?
Call us at 859.525.2020. We will be glad to find an appointment time that works with your schedule.
Why is body composition testing (BIA) important?
The number on the scale is just that... a number. The scale does not provide any detail about the makeup of that number. By determining the specific ratios of muscle mass, body fat, and water, not only can we gauge where to focus our energy, but also get an indication of overall health. These values are equally important when you have lost weight. Losing a pound of muscle or a pound of fat doesn't look any different on the scale, but is quite different in terms of health, aging, and the overall composition of your system.
How is the BIA different from the scales that measure body fat?
The scales that "measure" body fat use only two compartments, and do not take height or age into consideration. The BIA uses three compartments and factors height, age, and sex into the results. The BIA has been shown to be extremely accurate, repeatable, and reproducible.
